ABSTRACT

Background: COVID-19 vaccine was launched in India on 16 January 2021, prioritizing health care workers. There is lot of apprehensions and anxiety regarding uptake of the vaccine among them. So, determining the acceptability of a COVID-19 vaccine by healthcare professionals will also guide future vaccination studies. Objective: To know the willingness for COVID-19 vaccination among healthcare workers in a tertiary care hospital and to explore the factors responsible for unwillingness of COVID-19 vaccination. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among health care workers of a tertiary care hospital of Odisha. Those who refused to participate in the study, pregnant & lactating mothers and those who participated in COVID 19 vaccine clinical trial were excluded from the study. Data was collected from 746 HCWs for a period of three months i.e., from January 2021 to April 2021. Results: 78.8% HCWs were willing to get vaccinated with COVID 19 vaccine. Also 78.6% HCWs were willing to get their family members vaccinated with COVID 19 vaccine. But 53.6% study participants were not willing for COVID 19 vaccination if they do not get the option of free vaccine. Major reasons for COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy were concerns about the safety (60.8%) and efficacy of the vaccine (58.8%). Vaccine acceptance was more in older age group, Hindus, rural residents and those who have already suffered from COVID 19. Conclusion: Effort should be made to eliminate the doubts and concerns regarding the COVID 19 vaccine. © 2022 Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

PurposeThis paper examines the effect of shopping value (utilitarian, hedonic and social) on shopping satisfaction and store revisit intention in the post-pandemic phase. Additionally, the authors investigate how shoppers' COVID-responsible behaviour and visit frequency are contingent on their shopping value evaluations.Design/methodology/approachData were collected (n = 527) using the store intercept method during March 2022 (a recovery phase from the third wave of COVID-19 in India). The authors adopted structural equation modelling to test the proposed model.FindingsShopping values significantly impacted shopping satisfaction and store revisit intentions. The effects of utilitarian and hedonic value on satisfaction were stronger for frequent shoppers than infrequent shoppers. While utilitarian value contributes to stronger satisfaction of COVID-responsible shoppers, COVID-non-responsible shoppers are better satisfied with social value. The impact of hedonic and social value on satisfaction has reduced significantly from the pre- to post-pandemic phase.Practical implicationsPractising managers should recognise that positive shopping value evaluations are important for generating satisfaction. Notably, the utilitarian value becomes more important in times of environmental exigencies. The study provides insights to devise strategies to attract and retain frequent shoppers who are major contributors to the store's profit.Originality/valueThis study is one of the few studies which focuses on in-store shopping and consumers' shopping value evaluations in a COVID-19 recovery phase. This study is one of the first that compares the post-pandemic shopping value judgement to a pre-pandemic phase. The authors provide valuable insights into store revisit intentions of shoppers who behave responsibly in a challenging environment.

ABSTRACT

The healthcare sector plays a significant role in the industry, where a client looks for the highest amount of care and services, no matter the cost. However, this sector has not satisfied society's presumption, even if this industry consumes a considerable percentage of the national budget. In the past, medical experts have been looking for smart medical solutions. This work focuses on accurate and early detection of illness from various medical images. Early detection not only aids in the development of better medications but can also save a life in the long run. Deep learning provides an excellent solution for early medical imaging in healthcare. This paper proposed a Stacked-based BiLSTM with Resnet50 Model using an AdaSwarm optimizer to classify and analyze the medical illnesses from the different medical image datasets. For this study, four medical datasets were used as benchmarks: Covid19, Pneumonia, Ma, and Lung Cancer. Accuracy, AUC, ROC, and F1 Score performance metrics are used to evaluate the prosed model from other models. The proposed model gives a mean ACCURACY, AUC, ROC, and F1 Score on these four datasets are 98%, 99%, 97%, and 98%, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Stroke nurse is functioning as a vital member of the stroke team. She/he provides care to the stroke patients in acute as well as post-acute periods. She/he coordinates among other team members to facilitate the stroke care continuum. Post-stroke care is always a challenge for health care professional as well as caregivers. During current pandemic conditions, it is essential to provide quality care at their home. Purpose: To develop a mobile application to provide home based care for prevention and management of post stroke complications among survivors. Methods: Survey was carried out among 170 bedridden stroke survivors and their caregivers to assess problems faced like aspiration pneumonia, bedsore, urinary tract infection, deep vein thrombosis, frozen shoulder, contractures, and caregiver burden. On the basis of findings 'Stroke home care' a bilingual (in Hindi and English) mobile application was developed which contains step by step nursing-care-procedural videos to prevent bedsore, bedsore dressing, positioning change, Ryle's tube feeding, Foley's catheter care, active and passive range of motion exercises, hand washing with soap-water as well with sanitizer, psychological support to patients. Results: Through this intervention, caregivers of bedridden stroke patients get trained for care procedures so that they can provide best possible nursing care to their patients at home and can prevent post stroke complications and ultimately enhances quality of life of survivors and reduce caregivers' burden. Conclusion: 'Stroke Home Care' is a novel intervention developed by a stroke nurse which has been developed and tested not just for its feasibility and acceptability but also proven for its clinical applicability through PROBE designed study. This web based intervention can provide rehabilitation services to bedridden stroke survivors at their home in this pandemic.(Figure Presented).

ABSTRACT

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is the biggest public health threat to the whole world to date. The whole world is in a state of severe stress and anxiety because of this deadly pandemic. Objective: To assess the anxiety of the general public for COVID-19 and to analyse their preparedness. Materials and Methods: It was a cross-sectional study conducted in March 2020 among Indian adults more than 18 years of age. Data of 505 persons were included in analysis. A google form was created and sent to the e-mail address and WhatsApp groups. Data were collected regarding anxiety related to COVID19, their preparedness and level of trust towards information given. Results: Among participants, 46.1% had anxiety about being infected and 50.1% had anxiety about family members being infected and 56.7% had hesitation to meet with others. About one-third of participants had mental exhaustion and 22.8% had insomnia. More than 80% participants had purchased mask, 96.8% had purchased hand sanitizers/ hand wash, 75.8% had kept necessary medicines, 62% had kept groceries and 70% had restricted the access of outsiders to their home. About 99% follow the advice given by public health authority,92.5% of participants stay at home. More than 90% maintain a social distance of 2 metres, about 97% of participants personally comply, make children and family members comply and encourage friends to comply with official recommendations. Conclusion: Anxiety due to COVID-19 pandemic is a matter of concern. To improve their mental health, online health education and counselling can be offered by health professionals. © IJCRR.
